What is localStorage?
Think of it as a sticky note your browser keeps for itself. When you switch to dark mode, the site writes a small preference (something like theme=dark) so it remembers your choice next time you visit.
This note never leaves your device. It is not a cookie, so it is not included in HTTP requests to any server. It cannot be read by other websites. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data, or simply by switching your browser's dark mode preference.
That is the only thing we store anywhere. There is nothing else.
